#TeamUpforPeace campaign wraps up for high school basketball teams

During the 2022-2023 high school basketball season, 16 Indianapolis area teams participated with this ongoing campaign that challenged young people to team up for peace and choose positive alternatives to gun violence. 

Through peer-to-peer engagement players used their influence to promote violence
free schools and neighborhoods by wearing warm jerseys with the message before games.

“The Talks” girl group take a Black history lesson trip to Ohio

STVI is at KIPP Legacy high school weekly for the “TALKS” program where they are trusting the process through vulnerability, truth, and transparency! Over the weekend, they went on a day trip to Ohio to discover and discuss history. The explored their heritage and visited the National Underground Railroad.

Community violence intervention (CVI) offers recommendations for Indianapolis

Stop the Violence Indianapolis, Inc. was on a Zoom call with the mayor of Baltimore, Newark and Baton Rouge to discuss the use of new techonology that gives recommendations for a city to fight back against violent crime. Indianapolis was used an example for the Community Violence Intervention (CVI)

Stop the Violence presentation for Elevate Indianapolis

STVI along with Dr. Valerie McCray from Reset Psychological Services presented to Elevate Indianapolis on the principals of leadership coaching: content free practice and technique. The training gave Elevate staff important considerations when trying to help their audiences, urban youth in Indianapolis.
